CHRONOTEXT : SLASH RUN : GRAPH

Early stage demo of a system aimed to allow crowd-experimentation in the field of "everything between visual poetry and information visualization"...

A "slash run" is basically a web-service accessible via html, ajax, php, etc. which can launch an interactive Java webstart window.

The "graph" will be the first "slash run" application, allowing a 3 dimensional hierarchy of text-boxes, colored planes and images, all manipulable by intuitive drag-and-drop actions.

E.G. think about a web-page with a simple form (a text-box and a submit button labelled "run...) You type the following text:

<world size='800 600' background-color=#ff9933> <text font-family='sans-serif' font-color=#ffffff>HELLO

<rotate y=90><text text-align='right top'>how are <push id=1>we?

<text fill-color=#404040 font-color=#ffffcc padding='2 2 2 2' font-size=6 anchor='right bottom' align='right top' width=45>J'en ai marre d'aligner des paroles et des paroles, et meme des contrepoints...

<pop ref=1><rotate y=-90><text font-family='sans-serif' fill-color=#ff0000 fill-alpha=0.5 font-color=#ffffff>YOU?

And you hit "run"... Then, a webstart application is launching and your code is transformed into a manipulable graph (as in the picture below...)
At any moment, it's possible to come-back to the form, make some changes in the code and press "run" again (the graph window will then be instantaneously updated...)

I'll be out-there with the real-thing on my laptop... [Ariel Malka / chronotext.org]
